Provider Relations Advocates are accountable for a full range of provider relations and service interactions within Optum Serve, including n end-to-end provider claims / concerns, ease of use of provider portal, and support for training & development of external provider education programs. Our advocates support and nurture positive relationships between Optum Serve, providers, and program managers. The Advocates also supports and drive strategies relating to the retention of the provider network.
You’ll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within South Carolina, Maryland, or District of Columbia as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities
Assist in end-to-end provider claims and help enhance provider experience
Assist in efforts to enhance ease of use of provider portal and future services enhancements
Support development and management of provider networks within assigned regions
Help implement training and development of external providers through education programs in collaboration with our training teams
Identify gaps in network composition and services to assist network contracting teams

Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
1+ years of provider advocacy experience
1+ years of data entry experience
1+ years of experience within the healthcare or insurance industry
Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Travel within territory up to 10%
Currently resides within the state of South Carolina, Maryland, or Washington, D.C. or is willing to relocate at your own expense
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in continuous process, efficiency, and quality improvement
Ability to perform detailed work with a high degree of accuracy
