A nice article on the 4TU.Federation HERITAGE project in which we at Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC) of the University of Twente are going to study the Urban heat stresses from a multidisciplinary perspective along with our collaborators from , Eindhoven University of Technology , Delft University of Technology In this article our project leader Wim Timmermans explains how we are going to study the #urbanheat stresses in Dutch cities. We will be doing remote sensing with aircraft, drones, satellites, thermal imaging, and also weather balloons, meteorological measurements in the coming years for the HERITAGE project to study heat in cities.Measurements will be used to accurately predict and model the heat in cities with high resolution simulations down to a meter or lower and to develop simple models capable of accurately predicting the #urban #heat in Dutch cities. How can we accelerate the #sustainability transition and put people's well-being first instead of economic growth?🌱EP Groningen's Linda Steg will be one of the researchers working to answer these questions during the Springtij Forum 2023 this week on the Frisian island of Terschelling in the UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea. Professor Steg will take part in sessions about the latest IPCC report, thinking differently about a post-growth system, and overcoming the sense of alienation that people may experience when it comes to #climatechange (and climate action).

Indeed, it is much better for students to be involved in transition development, design and execution because, as potential future leaders they need to understand, recognise & learn to deal with the do’s and don’ts of transition operations. Every transition, how specific it may appear has similarities with other transitions. And do’nt forget, transitions always deal with people who have to adapt and change behavior.
