Thank you to Tonya Duhart Miller at Public Health Informatics Institute and The Task Force for Global Health, Inc. for having Kelley Napier speak to the program staff this week. The Task Force is an affiliated program of Emory that focuses on eliminating diseases and protecting populations. Do you have a loved one with cognitive decline? If so, you are not alone. A common and unfortunate aspect of aging is a decline in cognitive capacity. This can be mild and gradual, or severe and sudden. Many of the Elder Law clients at are grappling with this personally or struggling with caring for a loved one experiencing cognitive decline. While traditional “estate planning” is often more focused on what happens to your estate after your death, this aspect of Elder Law also incorporates more detailed conversations and planning about what happens while you are still living. We call this incapacity planning. We help our clients carefully consider and choose who they want to make certain types of decisions for them and how they want those decisions to be made. Incapacity planning can be just as important, if not more important, for certain clients than their estate planning. When a person’s cognitive abilities have declined to the point they can no longer participate in this type of conversation, we help family members pursue guardianship through the probate court. Your LinkedIn Social Selling Index (SSI) measures how effective you are at establishing your professional brand, finding the right people, engaging with insights, and building relationships. Your score is updated daily so there is always opportunity to increase your score. SSI is scored from 0 to 100, in 4 categories each worth 25 points. The picture below shows my personal SSI score as of last week. It's good. Not great. Definitely room for improvement. To find your personal SSI score, make sure you're logged into your LinkedIn account and then go to www.linkedin.com/sales/ssi.Voila! You'll see your score benchmarked against leaders in your industry.If your score is not what you would like, don't fret.
